SPOTLIGHT Legacy is often misunderstood. Many think it is the size of a bank account, the value of a business, or the assets written into a will. It is something far more powerful and far more personal. Legacy is built in the everyday moments that define who we are, what we stand for, and who we show up for. For me, legacy begins with my three daughters. Before I was a CEO, before I founded Ciemone Inc., before advising leaders on financial strategy, I became a mother. And becoming a mother reshaped how I view success, wealth, and the future. The most valuable thing we build is not a portfolio. It is a life that reflects our values. At Ciemone Inc., we focus on financial intelligence, helping leaders make better decisions about capital and long-term impact. But financial intelligence without purpose is incomplete. Money alone cannot define a legacy. Passion must be part of the equation. It keeps you building when no one sees the effort. It drives you to create something meaningful and to push through uncertainty. Entrepreneurship requires that kind of endurance. There are days when the world sees the highlight reel, growth, partnerships, speaking engagements. But behind every visible success are invisible decisions - late nights, difficult choices, calculated risks, and commitment to something bigger than yourself. For me, that “something bigger” has always been my family. When my daughters watch what I build they’re learning what leadership looks like. They’re witnessing resilience and seeing what it means to pursue a vision with conviction. And they are learning that women can lead, build, and shape industries. Representation matters. When girls see women in spaces like finance, investment strategy, and executive leadership, it expands what they believe is possible and that ambition and purpose are tools, not limits. This belief shapes the culture we are building at Ciemone Inc. Our work goes beyond numbers. We help leaders think about the long arc of their financial lives, not just how to earn wealth, but how to steward it. Building wealth is a skill. Directing it across generations requires intention. Legacy thinking changes everything: how you structure your business, how you invest, how you give, and how you spend your time. The meaningful moments of my week are not in boardrooms. They happen on the sidelines of a soccer field, cheering on my daughters. They’re around the dinner table, talking about dreams and the future. Those moments are part of legacy, too. Because wealth is not only about accumulation, it’s about alignment. Money is a tool that helps protect what matters most - our families, values, and impact. We believe financial strategy should empower people to live intentionally. We believe leaders should understand their numbers as deeply as their mission. And we believe legacy is strongest when passion and purpose align. For founders and entrepreneurs, this alignment is critical. The companies we build reflect who we are. Our values shape decisions, especially in moments of growth and challenge. And our children are watching. My daughters remind me that leadership is not about authority, it’s about example. They see the work, the preparation, the responsibility. But they also see something more important: They see passion. They see joy. They see meaning. And they see that success does not require sacrificing what matters most. If anything, true success protects it. Legacy is not a distant destination. It is shaped daily through choices, relationships, and purpose. For me, it lives at the intersection of family and financial leadership. And most of all, it lives in the example I hope to set for three young girls learning what it means to lead, to build, and to pursue their passions with courage. Because one day, they will build legacies of their own.
