SPOTLIGHT Victoria Thomas Kellymoss More seats, more voices: driving diversity in motorsports Fifteen years ago, I was running my own accounting firm, helping businesses build strong financial foundations. When Kellymoss, a dominant but behind-the-scenes force in Porsche racing, came to me as a client, they were looking for support with their books, but as I got to know the team and spent time inside the business, I saw something bigger—an opportunity to help shape a company with incredible talent and untapped potential. What began as a consulting relationship quickly grew into something more. Today, I’m proud to serve as owner and CFO of Kellymoss, now recognized as the winningest team in Porsche racing history. I didn’t come from the racing world, but I’ve always been driven by the challenge of building something meaningful. What drew me in wasn’t the sport itself—it was the people, the momentum and the chance to transform a strong foundation into a scalable, sustainable business. At the core, Kellymoss is a team fueled by passion, precision and relentless pursuit of excellence. My role is to ensure that passion is supported by a solid business strategy and culture that empowers everyone on the team. When I first began consulting with Kellymoss, the team had built a remarkable reputation on the track, but the business side needed restructuring. While their competitive results were undeniable, the company wasn’t yet translating that success into financial strength or sustainable growth. One of the most exciting parts of this journey has been growing the team—not just in numbers, but in diversity and leadership. Motorsports is traditionally a male-dominated field, especially at the executive level. At Kellymoss, we’re shifting that narrative. Our leadership team today is one of balance--diverse in perspective, background and experience—which is still rare in this industry. We believe that diversity drives innovation and stronger decision-making. Building an inclusive culture is not just a moral imperative; it’s good business. Our team today includes over 135 employees working across racing, vehicle restoration, custom builds and client services. Each person plays a vital role in what we achieve, both on the track and in the shop. We’ve cultivated an environment where collaboration and respect are front and center, and that culture is reflected in our results. Winning championships is thrilling, but what motivates me most is the people who make those wins possible. Beyond our day-to-day work, I’m deeply passionate about creating pathways for future generations to enter motorsports–especially young women and underrepresented youth–who historically have had limited access to this world. That passion inspired us to launch Race Forward: Be Your Own Hero, a comprehensive program that leverages inspiring racing role models like Loni Unser and Ashley Freiberg to showcase the near-limitless potential for youth to succeed in the industry. Through corporate sponsorships, track day activations and support for our Race Forward program drivers, Be Your Own Hero provides hands-on experiences, mentorship and real-world exposure to careers in engineering, mechanics, leadership and beyond. The goal of Be Your Own Hero is simple yet powerful: if you can dream it, you can be it. By breaking down outdated perceptions about who belongs in racing, we’re helping young people discover that motorsports is more than a sport–it’s a career, a community and a platform for growth and achievement. This initiative embodies the core values at Kellymoss: inclusion, opportunity and lasting impact. Balancing the high-pressure environment of professional racing with a commitment to education and equity is no small feat. It requires clear priorities and a culture-first leadership approach that values people as much as performance. As CFO and owner, I focus on aligning our business strategy with these values–investing in systems, training and initiatives that support growth while fostering a workplace where everyone feels empowered. My experience running an accounting firm taught me the importance of building sustainable systems and staying adaptable. by Victoria Thomas 70 enterprising Women
