writes a second draft. Then a third. And something remarkable happens. For example, a fifth grader had just finished reading one of our books about why money was created. She was then given this writing prompt: If you could create your own currency, what would it look like? Would it be coins, paper money, digital, or something completely new? Write about your new kind of money and how people would use it. How would your money system be better than what we use today? Her first submission was just two words, “My mom.” Pure defiance. Our AI coach didn’t scold her. It engaged her. Her second draft described metal coins she designed herself as well as digital tokens to save the trees! Her third draft kept all that creativity and added something that stopped the room. She wanted her money to make things cheaper so that big families without enough money could provide for their children, and so homeless people could live better lives. Three drafts. From defiance to economic empathy and social conscience. Her teacher watched it happen and said: “Amazing what the promise of a star will do for motivation.” That is not AI replacing a teacher. That is AI creating the conditions for a teacher to do the most important work of her career. By the time the teacher enters the conversation, she is working with polished, thoughtful writing, and she can do what only a great teacher can do—push that thinking even further and make a student feel the pride of genuine accomplishment. A message to my entrepreneur sisters My suggestion to every woman entrepreneur building something that matters in a noisy, competitive industry is: Find the gap. Build the system. Test it on real people. AI is a terrific tool, but use it in service of human beings, not instead of them. And build for scale from day one, because a solution that works for only a few is not a solution. It is proof of concept waiting to become something real. The legacy I am building is not about technology. It is about the moment a child discovers she is brilliant, and the system that made sure she got that chance. I am just getting started.
